Safety and Welfare

From the moment we meet the students at the airport we are committed to

  • treating all students with due care and attention and respect
  • protecting all students
  • providing all students with a safe and secure environment.

We are as committed to our participants’ safety and well-being as we are to their academic needs and providing opportunities for students to thrive is of utmost importance to us.

24/7 supervision and support is ensured throughout each course.

Every participant is issued with a badge and a student card containing the address and phone number of the school.

Each week, participants and course assistants have an individual meeting to discuss and resolve any particular issues or concerns.

Medical assistance and First Aid are available on site and at least one member of staff with a First Aid qualification is guaranteed to attend each outing.

Security personnel are present at the host college at all times and all staff are fully trained in safeguarding.

The school complies with UK Health and Safety and Child Protection legislation. All members of staff are DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service looking for criminal records) checked.

Travel and Documents

Students are met with a friendly welcome at the airport by a member of our staff. Students will be able to identify the staff member as they will carry our school sign with the student’s name on it! All staff members will also have ID.

Transfers from the airport are provided.

Each country has specific rules and requirements for students under the age of 18 who travel without their parents or legal guardians. Please check the airline’s website for booking conditions and rules related to unaccompanied minors before travelling.

Valid travel documents and visas (where required) are participants’ responsibility. If you are not a European Economic Area (EEA) national, you will need a visa. Under 18s must apply for a Child Visitor Visa (see www.gov.uk/standard-visitor-visa/if-youre-under-18)

If necessary EPLS can provide a letter of enrolment confirmation.

We recommend booking flights as early as possible.

Insurance

Insurance cover is included in the course fee. The cover begins the moment the participant arrives in the UK and is valid until completion of the trip.

Unless staff responsible for the participant are found to have been negligent, our school does not accept liability for accidents or injuries.

Please notify us before the beginning of the course whether you would prefer your child did not participate in a particular activity or excursion.

Data Protection

Students’ data is kept strictly confidential and disclosed to third parties only when absolutely necessary. We collect and securely store your information and use it only for the following reasons:

  • to meet the insurance policy requirements
  • to collect payments
  • to send communications/documents
  • to keep in touch.

We use all reasonable measures to protect Personal Information under our control. Unfortunately, no data transmission over the Internet or data storage system can be guaranteed to be 100% secure.
